Energy Performance Certificates
Energy Performance Certificates have become one of the many facets of information required before a sale or letting of a property.
However, little is known about the exemptions which exist. There are six exemptions in total including, listed buildings and the minimum energy performance requirements would unacceptably alter it, temporary buildings, those used for less than four months per year, and where a building is due to be demolished.
We are aware that many properties which form part of larger agricultural estates may have complexities which make them a little unusual; perhaps they are used to house seasonal workers, perhaps they have long term tenants in situ, maybe they are currently vacant with no long-term plan.
